The Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder of the nervous system caused by the accumulation of protein inside the brain and the gradual reduction of dopamine neurotransmitter. It strikes many young people, with the incidence of 20% in the group between the 40 and the 50 years old and, in one case on ten, between 20 and 40 years old. “It is sure that there is a genetic component, that concerns almost the 20% of the population” explains Professor Fabrizio Stocchi, director of the Parkinson Center and the movement upset at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital. Through the multifactorial analysis of the movement, is possible to carry out an objective evaluation of the Parkinson patient and sometime forestall the disease until six years before. The result allows to measure the physical and rehabilitation exercise and evaluate the performance. An important collaboration between the Polytechnic of Milan and IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital that allowed through the BTS technology to really improve the life of many Parkinson patients and their family.
