The School of Physical Education of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil has chosen the BTS SPORTLAB to support the education and the research on the motion analysis for biomechanics.
The School, founded in the 1940, is the oldest of the State, with more than 50 professors in three undergraduate courses: Physical Education, Physical Therapy, and Dance.
BTS SPORTLAB is installed in the biomechanics laboratory. Last week Prof. Jefferson Loss (Laboratory Director/Responsible) and Prof. Flávia Martinez (Physical Education Faculty Coordinator) organized a workshop on the motion analysis with the BTS SMART-Analyzer.
BTS had the opportunity to show its technologies to the professors and students of the University, who wanted to know the potential of the BTS SPORTLAB to improve the results of their researches.
The system, composed by 10 infrared video cameras BTS SMART-DX 7000, 4 Force platforms BTS P-6000, 1 BTS FREEEMG 300 with 16 channels, and 1 video controller BTS VIXTA. This SPORTLAB is one of the most complete solution for the functional evaluatoin of the athlete, allowing the ablility to scientificly measure physical and biomechanical characteristics.
Together with the local partner Kinetec, BTS also attended the 5th Symposium on applied neuromechanics (23-25 October) organized by the University of Caxias, to introduce different products to the audience, such as BTS P-6000, BTS FREEEMG 300 and BTS -SMART DX.
