Georgia Gwinnett College (www.ggc.edu), based in Lawrenceville, Georgia (USA) installed a new BTS Bioengineering Motion Lab in the Exercise Science Department.
The laboratory is composed by optoelectronic cameras (BTS SMART-DX), force platforms (BTS P-6000), a wireless EMG system (BTS FREEEMG), a pressure mat (BTS P-WALK) and a portable gait analysis system, (BTS G-WALK). Researches will focus on gait and movement analysis together with sport and biomechanics applications.
BTS always collaborates with universities to improve the educational experience of their researchers and students, but this is the first time that our products will be used by undergraduates’ students. Georgia Gwinnett College has chosen BTS due to the ease of use, the high performance system, and its native integration between all this components. With this new laboratory, professors will provide hands-on demonstrations of biomechanical concepts that they usually teach in the classroom.
We hope that this first innovative experience will be repeated in other colleges among other States to introduce scientific disciplines to passionate younger people.
