Columbia University recently published a scientific study about the effects of lung volume reduction surgery on the ventilatory mechanics and voluntary breathing.
The study used the BTS OEP system, a unique optical tracking system that analyzes the motion of retro-reflective markers adhered to the patient’s chest, abdomen ad back.
The optical tracking system implied for the study 8 video cameras, 4 in front of the patient and 4 behind and the BTS software OEP-Analyzer.
The study has been published on the Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases.
