Catalyst Kinetics, a cutting edge sport medicine and fitness center located in Burnaby, Canada, adopted BTS motion capture technology to deliver science-based training and rehabilitation sessions for both PRO and amateur athletes in the Vancouver area.
Among several other services provided by Catalyst Kinetics, including professional nutrition advice and physiotherapy treatments, the center now offers a full biomechanic evaluation for several sport gesture by using BTS SPORTLAB.
The fully integrated BTS SPORTLAB, including 10 BTS SMART-DX 7000 optoelectronic cameras, 4 BTS P-6000 force plates, and the 8 channel BTS FREEEMG 300 wireless emg allows trainers and physiotherapist at Catalyst to customize work out sessions, and to monitor athlete’s improvements in performance. BTS SPORTLAB is particularly appreciated for the non-invasive clinical approach and for the seamless integration with the multipurpose gym where it’s been installed.
Catalyst Kinetics also collaborates with an ex Canadian PGA Tour golfer and now provides a high end biomechanical evaluation of the golf swing. The BTS motion capture system acquires and processes 3D kinematic and kinetic data, generating a final report, athletes can bring home. By looking at graphs and 3D body reconstruction in space, both amateur and PRO Golfers can get a better understanding on how to improve their control, their balance during the swing, and also how to better generated the most power.
