The event “1a Jornada Brasileira de Análise Clinica da Marcha” held in Porto Alegre (Brazil) ended on November 7th. It has allowed many experts in this field to meet for the first time, with the purpose of founding the Brazilian Clinical Movement Association.
BTS has taken part with pleasure in this initiative making competences and technologies available to everyone. Sharing experiences and spreading the scientific approach to movement analysis, in fact, it is possible to support clinicians in the choice of the most suitable treatment for each case.
On this occasion, the practical session has taken place in the BTS Lab at the Physical Education department of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) led by Roy Davis, director of the Motion Analysis Lab of Shriners Hospitals for Children (Greenville, South Carolina) and one of the highest experts in the world of movement analysis. During the workshop, the participants had the possibility to see a gait evaluation through the application of the “Conventional Gait Model” protocol, using 4 force platforms BTS P-6000, the system for biomechanical analysis of movement based on 10 cameras BTS SMARTDX 7000, the electromyograph for the muscular activity evaluation BTS FREEMG 1000 and BTS G-WALK.
