We are excited to present the first edition of the University Master in Neurorehabilitation promoted by the University of Pavia in collaboration with Fondazione Maugeri Scientific Institute of Pavia (Italy), an Italian reference center for rehabilitation.
The Master is the result of an initiative of Caterina Pistarini MD, who is the responsible for neurorehabilitation and of the Reanimation Unit of Fondazione Maugeri of Pavia; she’s also the president of the Italian Society of Neurological Rehabilitation (SIRN).
In Italy, neurorehabilitation is increasingly emerging as a discipline covering an essential role in innovation and scientific research. The goal of the training program is to:
- offer a training standard that provides the basics of knowledge and experience in the disability management due to neurological diseases;
- provide appropriate guidelines for the management of patients with acute, subacute, chronic neurological diseases as for adults, geriatric and pediatric patients;
- promote training programs that involve all the various professionals of the rehabilitation team;
- promote the conception and participation in translational research projects.
Therefore, it is a unique opportunity to deepen theoretical knowledge and develop skills related to clinical practice, also thanks to the several exercise and internship sessions.
The Master is addressed to Medicine and Surgery graduates, preferably holding a specialization degree in Neurology or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Clinical Neurophysiology or Pediatric Neuropsychiatry.
BTS is the technical sponsor of this initiative and will offer a prize-winning money of € 2.500 to the student who will have sent the best scientific work by the end of the Master.
