BTS EMGenius is the applicative software to acquire, elaborate and report electromyography and footswitch signals, for the functional evaluation of cycle movements as in the gait, by means of an automatic identification of the gait phases, or of movement as "hand to mouth", "sit to- stand", "hand flex-extension", "reaching", etc.

BTS EMGenius is a very useful instrument for all clinical laboratories that deal with the study of muscular activity during motion, such as evaluation of neurological and orthopaedic pathologies, pharmacological therapies, evolutions of motor deficit, use in orthesis and rehabilitative follow up.

BTS FREEEMG 300 and BTS POCKETEMG is the most advanced diagnostic tool available today to study the muscular activity for the functional evaluation of cycle movements.

Main features

Visualization of raw data, on-off switch signals, reference cycle phases (i.e. during gait analysis will be shown the stance and swing phases, with different colours, selectable by the user, for right and left side).

Automatic extrapolation of temporal parameters of the defined cycle movement. The system allows graphical-numeric representations of the temporal sequences and of the phases (outlier).

Analysis of the mean and median cycle on temporal events selectable by the user.

Computation of the power spectrum (PSD), to have a qualitative control of the acquired data.

VIDEO synchronized with the signals.: an excellent frame by frame visualization procedure has been implemented. It allows the user to scroll the video upwards and backwards, frame by frame, thanks to a pre-loading in the memory of the video data, without any bound on the used CODEC characteristics. It is possible to choose the length of the video portion to be visualized and the temporal position inside the acquired trial.

Database to organize the data related to the patients and to the analysis sessions.

"Butterworth" high-pass filter, of 2nd order, without phase delay.

Tools for the visualization operations: zoom, right or left side selection, scroll.

Definition of visualization windows of user selectable length, to visualize a portion of the signal, very useful in particular for holter acquisition. It is possible to visualize the windows to respect the time or respect the number of cycles.

User defined threshold value, to include or discard cycles from the elaboration or from the temporal parameters computation (i.e. which cycles hold good in the gait parameters definition, or in the stride and stance phases duration computation).

Data report in Microsoft WORD format: during the elaboration procedure of EMG signals, the user can send to the report, just by a mouse click, the BTS EMGenius working area content. Graphs dimension pre-defined layout, full-page, ½ and ¼ page, can be applied automatically. At the end of the elaboration procedure, the report can be visualized in Microsoft WORD with the possibility to add notes and comments and print or export it in HTML or PDF format which allows sharing information with other centres by internet or including the reports directly in electronic medical records.

Assessment and representation of the linear envelope of the signal: the algorithm applied includes the signal rectification and the low-pass filter application with cut frequency, by default, equal to 25Hz, but also user definable.

Input data format: TDF (BTS), EMG (BTS), MDX (BTS SMART-Analyzer), C3D (international standard format).

Available in English and Italian languages and the option for all the languages that use the Latin alphabet.
