Based on the newest generation technology with passive markers, BTS GEMINI is the non invasive solution for the most accurate and reliable static and dynamic postural analysis.
This fully portable system, thanks to the self-calibration and to its small dimensions is the best ready to use solution for an ambulatory complete analysis.
Amongst today’s technology solutions, BTS GEMINI is the only system that not only allows the evaluation of the column, but also a comprehensive evaluation from head to feet of the subject in both the frontal and sagittal posture.

Example of clinical protocol (Postural Analysis) available:
3 marker Protocol "Rachial Angle"
The subject, standing, flexes laterally the trunk (bending). Two vertebras at the scoliotic curvature extremity and a third one in the middle point are taken as a reference. The software automatically elaborates distances between spinouses, curvature rachid angles and the scoliotic angles in the sagittal plane and finally the bending Range Of Motion.

14 marker Protocol "Rachial inclination"
The subject, standing, flexes the trunk (bending) at least one time. The system identifies shoulders, thoracic, dorsal and lumbar vertebrae and pelvis. The software automatically elaborates distance variations, trajectories and angles in the sagittal and frontal planes between markers fixed on the anatomical points belonging to the pelvis, C7 and S1.

Main features

Main features:
A new tool to obtain reliable-objective measurements of the postural kinematics in static and dynamic conditions
Three dimensional objective data of postural kinematics is essential for physician and physical therapist. Old systems, based on video and optical scan, provide non accurate data. Often the 3D graphic reconstruction does not match the real individual biomechanics. The precision is even lower during dynamic analysis for example a bending movement.
BTS, well known in the clinical world for its advanced movement analysis systems, developed an innovative technology based on infrared TVCs that allows a precise and accurate measurement of all the postural parameters useful for a complete diagnosis.

The most accurate data with the fastest and easiest test
BTS GEMINI acquires the three dimensional coordinates of passive reflective markers fixed on the subject skin on specific anatomical repere points. During the three dimensional recoding BTS GEMINI elaborates the marker’s positions, trajectory, angular dimension (Flex-extension, Abd-Adduction and intra-extra rotation of all the main joints) velocity and acceleration.
The final result is a detailed, objective and accurate report of the real movement. For postural evaluation, the system uses a user friendly protocol (using only a few markers) allowing a quick set up that takes at maximum 5 minutes to prepare the subjects.

"Ready to Use" applications
Protocols developed by clinicians have been implemented in the system to analyze quickly and to present the most common movement in the easiest way. A powerful, userfriendly software allows the creation of customized protocols to acquire specific tasks.
