New BTS headquarters in New York

BTS is pleased to announce the opening of its new headquarters in New York City. The office and the dedicated staff will allow an higher control on the USA region and a stronger relationship with all the users already presents in the North of America. Our services will be improved, also thanks to the good success of these past years and the increasing interests for the BTS products. This opening represents an important step for the growing of our enterprise, born in 1986 and operating in a sector that is everyday most fundamental for the technological future applied to the clinical.

Sport Days: sport at its best

On the first days of September (9th – 10th), BTS has participate with the collaboration of the Sport Medicine Federation, at the first big national kermesse of sports disciplines: the Sport Days in Rimini. Even if it was its first edition, the event have had a great success, with the participation of representatives of each discipline and with the installation of demonstrative booth and playgrounds.
Our systems (BTS NIRVANA, BTS TMJOINT, BT DIGIVEC and BTS MIOBALANCE) have reached the public attention (athletes, sport medicine practitioners, etc.). The functional analysis of the occlusion made with BTS TMJOINT, has interested a huge number of athletes, especially the category of weightlifters, including the Italian champion Maurizio Bombaci. Also the stabilometric analysis and that of muscular activity have attracted the attention, becoming part of the classical sport medicine visits.

In this past August, BTS has presented its robotic bed BTS ANYMOV in different rehabilitation hospital in the Shanghai area. The technology applied has been highly appreciated also because one of the bed was available all time during “The National Rehabilitation & Sports Conference” held on August 19-23, 2011 in Shanghai.
On the first day of congress, BTS had a lecture about the early passive mobilization on post stroke patients in front of an audience made by physiatrists and physical therapists, with also a practical demonstration of the bed functioning. We thank all the participants for the interest showed.

FMBA opening in Moscow

The June 8, 2011 BTS has participated at the ceremony opening of the sports medicine and rehabilitation center FMBA in Moscow. The event received a big echo from all over the country, also thanks to the participation of delegates and ministers that praised the work done.
With more than one thousand meters and unique equipment – as BTS solutions – that are able to simulate every phase of the formative process, this laboratory expects to take to top levels their athletes, thanks to the creation of medical support programs that are unique in the world.

BTS new collaboration in Greece

The opening ceremony of the OREC (Orthopeadic Research and Education Center) was a big event. Ministers, Rectors of universities, directors of orthopedic clinics from all over Greece and other countries came to honor the work of Professor Soucacos, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, whose purpose is to “provide stimulating laboratory and training environments for orthopaedic residents, students, post-doctoral fellows and faculty, and to advance novel concepts through translational studies that bridge basic science research and clinical practice”.
BTS is present with its Gait Analysis Laboratory “designed to perform functional assessments and so to measure outcome after orthopaedic procedures of the lower extremity and spine”.

This May, BTS staff has installed at the University of Cincinnati a new DX 5000 system. Professor Shaffner and his students were enthusiastic about the versatility of the system, used for the kinematic analysis of robot and the radio remote control of the same. Another application that was appreciated is that the electromyography can be integrated with the ergonomic studies.

Saturday May 7, took place the training day for the electromiographic evaluation of teeth’s malocclusion promoted by ANDI Veneto.
Prof. Dr. Gianluca Tartaglia explained the application on the new method BTS TMJOINT in daily practice, illustrating some clinical cases and their recovery pathways.
Participants were in fact able to attend the practical use of the system, from the data acquisition to the reporting and the construction of the corrective actions.

World premiere: BTS presents MIOBALANCE

On the occasion of the theoretical and practical training course “Postural Problems and Therapeutic Solutions” held last March 5, in Sesto San Giovanni – MI, BTS has announced the upcoming release of BTS MIOBALANCE: the first synchromiograph for the functional evaluation of postural disorders.
BTS MIOBALANCE will enhance the quantitative and qualitative analysis of postural disorders improving also the customization of each rehabilitation program, thanks to the analysis of the intensity, the symmetry and the coordination of the muscular activity. The analysis is based on surface electromyography and angular range of motion.The BIOFEEDBACK function will allow a real-time control of the exercises execution, favoring the therapeutic success.

Miami University doubles

New installation at Miami University: after the Athletic Center, also the Kinesiology and Sport Sciences Department, chose BTS solutions for their research activity. This time, beyond the wireless 16-channels EMG system BTS FREEMG300, for the first time in the USA, the newest high performance optoelectronic system for kinematic and kinetic motion analysis, BTS SMART-DX 7000 has been installed.
