BTS for education

We are proud to announce that BTS will be the technological partner for the 1st edition of the Neurorehabilitation Master Course at Universidad Cardenal Herrera, Faculty of Health Sciences. Coherently with its roots and tradition, BTS Bioengineering still looks at the research and university field as fundamental.

New BTS OEP SYSTEM installation

The interest of the international scientific community in our pletysmography system is still widening. A BTS Optoelectronic Pletysmography provided with 8 cameras was recently installed at ROYAL BROMPTON HOSPITAL in London. The pneumology research team of Dr Derek Cramer chose our technology for an in depth study of the respiratory system pathologies, with particular regard to COPD.
Thanks to such collaboration, BTS presence within UK significantly strengths up.

BTS/ISEK 2010

BTS would like to thank all the ISEK 2010 participants for the interest shown in occasion of BTS FREEEMG 300 world premiere. Congress participants expressed their interest in FREEEMG 300 technical characteristics requiring numerous demo presentations that proved the high performances of the system as well as the completeness of its brand new software BTS EMG-Analyzer.

BTS/SIMFER2010 Prize

The BTS Prize has been created in conjunction with the Organizing Committee of the Annual Conference of Italian Society of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (Comitato Organizzatore del Congresso Annuale della Società Italiana di Medicina Fisica e Riabilitazione). The prize goes to the best scientific contribution to functional assessment analysis of movement applied to rehabilitation using new technology.
The prize, consisting of a 5 day internship at the Guttmann Institute at the University of Barcelona, was awarded to work presented by Padova Hospital, Department of Orthopedic Rehabilitation and by the University of Padova, Department of Information Engineering.
BTS congratulates the winners for their work.

New addition to the family BTS FREEEMG, BTS surface electromyography with wireless sensor.

BTS announces the launch of BTS FREEEMG 300: the latest version BTS portable surface EMG with wireless sensor.   The new receiver is even more powerful with more than a 40% increase in actual range. Equipped with new batteries, the sensors can hold more than 5 hours of continuous data; in addition, the onboard memory pad ensures the system against data loss from temporary Wi-Fi network interruptions and enables sensor use beyond the useful operating range. BTS FREEEMG 300 is 100% compatible with all the movement analysis systems thanks to the brand new Analog Output Receiver that makes EMG data available in analog format, contemporaneously with the wireless digital transmission.

An important milestone for the Gait Laboratory at the FLENI Rehabilitation Center in Buenos Aires.

The laboratory of gait analysis at the FLENI Rehabilitation Center in Buenos Aires has reached an important milestone, analyzing its 1,000th patient. The entire BTS staff congratulates the laboratory team for its excellent work through the years.

Worldwide preview shown at SIRN, BTS ANYMOV, a robotic hospital bed for the functional rehabilitation of patients who have experienced a stroke or a serious brain injury

BTS S.p.A. presented the worldwide premier of BTS ANYMOV at the SIRN conference held in Palermo from April 22-24.
The latest addition to the BTS family, it represents the first solution from the new BTS division focused on the clinical world: BTS Biomedical.
With BTS ANYMOV, the hospital bed becomes a robot serving the patient’s mobility goals. It allows for movement therapy directly in the hospital bed from the early phases of rehabilitation for post stroke patients and patients with post cranial trauma (serious brain injuries). The robotics ensures the treatments have excellent consistency and measurability beyond their functional effects and results.

SIRN 2010. BTS Prize to the best scientific work at the conference

At the symposium organized by the Italian Society of Movement Medicine at the 10th Annual Conference of the Italian Society of Neuromotor Rehabilitation, BTS established a BTS prize, in conjunction with the Organizing Committee, for the best presentation or the best scientific work. The prize, a 5 day internship at the Nino Jesus Children's University Hospital of Madrid, is intended as an important recognition of university research which has always paid close attention to the growth and training of young, emerging professionals.

BTS announces the world’s first virtual reality system for the rehabilitation of patients with neuromotor pathologies.

BTS Biomedical presents BTS NIRVANA, a virtual reality system for the rehabilitation of patients with neuromotor pathologies.
Developed in collaboration with the Valduce Hospital Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Center, Costamasnaga (LC), BTS NIRVANA is an innovative therapeutic solution based on markerless technology. It allows for total visual and auditory immersion in virtual reality free from any invasive device that limits or alters the subject’s freedom to interact.
The rehabilitation protocols define the virtual environment for neuromotor re-education therapy programs. BTS Nirvana is particularly suited to rehabilitation programs for patients with attention problems, and problems with movement of the upper and lower limbs and trunk.
