The ACL injury commonly occurs in sports and when this happens the athlete is forced to long months of „stop“.
Regardless of the severity of the trauma (in the worst cases surgery is also used), a key role in treating this problem is covered by rehabilitation. In addition to the classic gym, more and more athletes perform rehabilitation sessions in the water. In fact, water therapy makes it possible to carry out appropriate exercises to restore muscle tone, especially in the first phase of the rehabilitation process, when it is very important for the subject to avoid an over-deficiency in the extension phase at 30/40 degrees of the knee.
The new FREEEMG 1000 H20 probes are therefore included in this treatment: probes designed specifically for measurement in water thus allowing an objective and repeatable measurement of the muscles involved during rehabilitation exercise. In this way the therapist can evaluate the activity of the anterior and posterior thigh muscles by monitoring the desired increase in the activity of this muscle in order to stabilize the knee and the possible new triggering of ACL.
