While preparing for the 2019 season, the two young champions of Italian athletics Eleonora Anna Giorgi and Matteo Giupponi have been tested with the BTS SPORTLAB laboratory, with the aim of assessing their biomechanical health status. Both walkers, specialized in distance over 20 km, are followed by coach Gianni Perricelli and physiotherapist Roberto Rinelli.
The march is a very technical discipline and it is fundamental a correct execution of the athletic gesture; the presence of judges along the route does not allow any distraction, even the most prepared walkers risk disqualification for a small carelessness.
The biomechanical evaluation with a highly sophisticated technology allows you to highlight attitudes not visible to the human eye, thus representing a great competitive advantage to define highly personalized training strategies.
During the morning of the test, Eleonora and Matteo underwent a complete kinematic, dynamic and muscular analysis, both during the gait execution and the purely technical gesture related to the march.
The test results were then taken over by the athletic trainer and the athletes’ physiotherapist, who will use them to plan the most suitable training program for the two champions.
The 2019 season has just begun and we are sure that Eleonora and Matteo will have a year full of personal and professional satisfaction.
Come on Azzurri, we are with you!
