We are pleased to share with you the publication in the Gait & Posture journal of the abstracts of two new studies on the functional evaluation of the spine performed through the use of the BTS SMART-DX 400 optoelectronic system.
In these studies an innovative protocol for the analysis of the kinematics of the rachis during the flexion-extension movement of the trunk was presented. After further validation, this protocol could be easily adopted in clinical practice to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatments, as well as to identify pathological conditions.
To this end, two databases of kinematic data were collected: one from healthy subjects and one from subjects with low back pain.
The studies were presented during the ESMAC 2017 conference by Dr. Barbara Piovanelli, physiotherapist and researcher at the Research Center of Rovato (IRCCS Don Gnocchi ONLUS, Milan), headquarter of the Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation directed by Prof. Stefano Negrini. The research was performed in close collaboration with Eng. Cinzia Amici and Eng. Valter Cappellini of the research group of the University of Brescia chaired by Eng. Alberto Borboni.
Thank you all for the constant research work and the excellent results achieved.
