What it is

BTS Telerehab enables patients to extend their clinical care journey into their own homes, avoiding the need for travel. Accessible from any connected device, the platform allows doctors, patients, and caregivers to interact through real-time audio and video.
Telemedicine with BTS is not just a video call, but a professional medical performance. It provides tools to update clinical records instantly, securely share documents, and track session duration for official certification, while automatically drafting the final medical report.
Within BTS Telerehab, the Rehabilitative Televisit is distinct from generic televisits managed by regional platforms. It is identified as a specific service to ensure full compliance with public health authority regulations.
Rehabilitative Televisit requires no dedicated hardware, leveraging a pure cloud platform. It is recognized and reimbursed by the National Health Service (SSN) at the same rate as in-person services. Same reimbursement, lower costs, and broader territorial coverage.
It includes:
Under the direct and constant remote supervision of the clinician connected via videoconference, patients can continue their rehabilitation journey directly from home. The original clinical offering, focused on motor and cognitive areas, has recently been expanded to include programs dedicated to speech therapy as well as cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation, thereby ensuring a multidisciplinary and even more comprehensive therapeutic approach.
During sessions, the patient wears a sensor that measures movements in real time, allowing the clinician to remotely monitor the correct execution of the exercises. In addition to therapeutic activities, functional evaluation tests are also included. Thanks to an advanced system—and without the use of avatars—real-time graphic elements are overlaid onto the patient’s reflected image on their home TV screen to guide them through selective functional movements.
The protocols aim to restore or compensate for impaired cognitive functions typical of patients with neurological conditions. The exercises are designed to target and train specific domains, such as memory, attention, executive functions, and perception.
The system offers targeted activities to support the recovery and enhancement of voice, fluency, comprehension, and verbal output, directly intervening in the patient’s cognitive-linguistic sphere.
Respiratory Area: Guided breathing exercises support patients in optimizing their breathing patterns and ventilation efficiency. Through immediate visual feedback, the system also allows for the monitoring of thoracic or abdominal expansion.
Cardiac Area: Structured programs guide the individual through controlled motor tasks, ensuring a safe, monitored, and progressive workload during the cardiovascular conditioning phase.
In addition to telepresence (synchronous) sessions, the platform introduces an innovative asynchronous working mode. This option allows doctors to assign a personalized therapeutic plan structured into an exercise “playlist” that patients can perform in total autonomy. Healthcare professionals can review and analyze all data recorded by the system at a later time, accurately tracking progress, parameters, and treatment adherence.
The cloud-based management software allows dialogue and management of all doctor-patient activities:
– Schedule appointments using the shared agenda;
– Access the patient database to consult and update the medical record;
– Automatically create reports;
– Keep track of all the activities carried out for reporting with the possibility of making statistics.
The software manages different access levels. All registered users of the medical center can access at any time using any device connected to the Internet. The cloud management system complies with the regulation for the protection and security of sensitive patient data.
BTS Telerehab supports Integrated Home Care (ADI) and Territorial Operations Centers (COT) through teleconsultation. Home care operators, equipped with a laptop running the platform, can acquire clinical parameters from portable devices — such as ECG, glucometers, and pulse oximeters — and share them in real-time with medical specialists via screen sharing.
The activity is scheduled and managed exactly like in-gym sessions, following the same logic for documentation and reporting. A single, unified platform for both facility-based and home-based rehabilitation.
BTS Telerehab integrates the Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) directly into the platform, structured in accordance with national clinical guidelines. The IRP supports the entire continuum of care, from the physiatrist’s diagnosis and rehabilitative goals to the physiotherapist’s operational program.
The document is organized by clinical responsibility levels:
Diagnosis and Goals: Managed by the Physician.
Therapeutic Program: Managed by the Physical Therapy Coordinator.
Execution and Real-time Updates: Managed by the Therapist.
During live sessions, the therapist has the IRP constantly in view and can update it directly; every modification is automatically synchronized with the patient’s clinical history.
BTS Telerehab does not only manage BTS devices. The platform schedules, launches, documents, and reports on treatments performed with any device in the rehabilitation gym — including robotic systems, treadmills, and third-party equipment.
The workflow is end-to-end: from scheduling to launching activities directly from the cloud interface, and from uploading documentation into the patient’s clinical record to final reporting. The productivity dashboard filters and analyzes data from all devices, providing a unified view of the entire rehabilitation process.
This approach transforms BTS Telerehab from a standalone product into a comprehensive management platform for the rehabilitation gym.
