Portable system for the objective measurement of kinematic and muscle activity
Muscle activity assessment is essential to assess the patient’s state of health and to be able to intervene with highly personalised treatment pathways.
Thanks to FREELAB, it is possible to carry out the analysis of specific movements for each body part, in order to obtain a global assessment that allows to formulate a real “functional diagnosis”, understood as the identification of any movement dysfunctions, residual potential and compensation strategies.
The use of our FREEEMG 1000 electromyography system together with the G-SENSOR inertial sensor allows to obtain an immediate view of the behaviour of the reference muscle in relation to the movement performed.
FREELAB allows to assess walking, posture, mobility of the lumbar and cervical tract in a few minutes, providing indispensable support in defining the most appropriate therapy and in pre-post treatment analysis.

What it is about
The system consists of the FREEEMG electromyographic probes and the G-SENSOR inertial sensor.
The FREEEMG probes allow to perform a dynamic functional assessment of the activation state of the muscle chains, providing information on the time, duration and extent of muscle activation during the execution of a movement.
G-SENSOR is instead an inertial sensor that allows to perform a kinematic assessment of the movement. It then provides the acceleration and speed values characteristic of the specific motor task performed and the time references that allow the movement to be divided into different sub-phases within which the muscular behaviour is analysed.
FREELAB includes a complete software solution for electromyographic and kinematic analysis.
It includes a library of predefined protocols for functional analysis in the clinical and sports fields. Once the specific functional test has been performed, the software automatically generates an easy-to-read report.
It also includes an editor for creating custom processing protocols.
Functional protocols are fast-paced examinations that require simple preparation and easily fit into routine assessment. The repetition of the examination over time allows to monitor the improvements, giving the patient feedback on their progress. In this way, the effectiveness of the treatment to which the therapist submits the patient is quantified and objectified.
FREELAB supports the specialist in identifying the origin of the patient’s problem being any movement dysfunctions, potential residues, and compensation strategies. It is possible assess whether it is linked to an incorrect activation of some muscle groups or to an asymmetrical work between the right and left side.
